Great keyword suggestion tool

Most webmasters know about wordtracker. Most webmasters also know about Google Trends. One thing most webmasters DON’T KNOW is a tool which combines both.

Try it with some keywords. I’m sure it’ll help you, one way or another.

To get you started:

1. Type a broad keyword which interests you. For example, let’s use “Backgrounds”

2. Click Hit Me. It is will generate any results.

4. Once complete, you get the same keywords you get using the regular wordtracker tool. The difference is the graph icon to the far right.

5. Depending on search volume for the term you want, pick a keyword you like. For this tutorial, I will use “Myspace backgrounds”

6. Click the bar graph icon to the far right. You get a pop-up window with some very useful information.
Also, there is an Adult Filter. Turn it to get “Adult Only” terms.

The popup window tells you the number of searches and your competition for that keyword. These numbers have proven to be very accurate for my searches, in the past. For most keywords, where I have the number 1 position, the traffic has been very close to the amount this tool predicted.

For example, (at the time of this writing) “myspace backgrounds” shows 2,950,000  pages competing for that keyword. In addition, it shows how much traffic the number 1 spot on google gets. For this term, expect to get around 50,000 visitors a day. While this keyword gets lots of traffic, the competition is massive. So,  either go for more detailed terms or avoid it.

Hopefully, this tool saves you time and money when trying to figure out what terms to target.
